This Old Bass

Welcome to our restoration page. The owner of this bass saw no hope for it having a future as an instrument and quite honestly I agreed. I figured It may have a more useful and fruitful purpose as mulch.
That was until I met a friend who rallied support to save this poor instrument. She and her friends convinced me that the instrument should be saved.
Over the coming months I will be restoring this instrument to it's original glory and chronicling the journey on these pages. At the end of that time it will be a beautiful instrument and a joy to play. It will be ready for a skilled musician to take over the reigns.
Regards,
Paul Wargaski

The Beginning
I have not had a chance to examine the instruments in person these are pic's taken in the instruments current location

-Picture 1) The top has been crushed not by accident but by a poorly done repair in the past.
-Picture 2) Some seams are not only open but dramaticall warped as well.
-Picture 3) The original fingerboard was replaced with a guitar fingerboard. (Probably done the same time the repair at the bottom of the bass was done). This is not only the wrong part for the job, but the frets are useless because the string length on acoustic and electric instruments are different).
